Immerse yourself in the beautiful and ancient tradition of Japanese floral art, which has been practised for over 550 years.

Professor Rie Day will guide you through the history and philosophy of Ikenobo Ikebana, while demonstrating a couple of free-style arrangements.

During the workshop, you will create two of your own floral arrangements under her expert guidance. Most materials are provided from Grimsthorpe castle garden. Please bring the following materials:

• Two vases (maximum width 30 cm, maximum height 30 cm)

• Garden secateurs

• Two kenzans approximately Size: 6.1 x 6.1 x 2.2 cm

• Paper for wrapping and transporting your arrangements and materials

Whether you are new to Ikebana or looking to deepen your practice, this workshop offers a unique opportunity to experience the elegance and mindfulness of Japanese floral art in the stunning surroundings of Grimsthorpe Castle.
